Nonwoven Thermal Calendering Machine is a high-precision bonding system engineered for thermal consolidation of spunbond, spunlace, ES fiber, geotextile, and biodegradable fiber nonwovens. The equipment operates through coordinated heat and pressure application to achieve fiber-to-fiber bonding without chemical adhesives. Available configurations include two-roll standard type, Y-type three-roll uniform type, high-speed wide-width type, and custom ultra-wide models with maximum working width up to 7000mm, top speed 800m/min, and line pressure capacity 150N/mm. The complete system integrates self-developed matched roller assemblies, closed-loop process control, and a stress-relieved heavy-gauge frame structure supporting continuous 24/7 operation across hygiene, medical, geotextile, automotive, and filtration material production.

Product Advantages
Integrated Roller System & Industry Standard Leadership – The company is the lead drafter of the industry standard for nonwoven thermal calendering machines, combining in-house roller manufacturing with complete machine design capability. The thermal bonding rollers incorporate a patented surrounding deep-hole heat exchange channel structure enabling full-surface thermal uniformity. Paired with a closed-loop temperature control module, the system maintains full-width temperature differential ≤±0.65℃ and fabric basis weight deviation within ±2.5g/㎡, increasing premium hygiene material yield rates by over 18%.
Advanced Pressure Control – A servo-hydraulic pressure mechanism with 0–30mm axial cross-axis adjustment compensates for roller deflection under load in real time. Line pressure is infinitely adjustable up to 150N/mm, maintaining constant nip pressure across the entire web width. This eliminates edge tightness, loose edges, and wave wrinkles at speeds up to 800m/min, ensuring consistent bonding strength for both lightweight and heavyweight nonwovens.
Comprehensive Model Range & Ultra-Wide Customization – Standard configurations cover two-roll, Y-type three-roll uniform, and high-speed wide-width models serving both small-scale production and large-scale industrial lines. Standard working widths are 3600mm and 5400mm, with custom designs up to 7000mm available—one of the few domestic manufacturers capable of delivering ultra-wide thermal bonding equipment.
Heavy-Duty Frame & Dynamic Balancing – The main frame is constructed from thick steel plate with full stress-relief annealing to eliminate internal stress from welding. Each roller undergoes three-stage dynamic balancing calibration under simulated load to G0.8 grade, ensuring no frame deformation or vibration under 24/7 full-load operation.
PLC Closed-Loop Control – The proprietary HMI control system integrates temperature, line pressure, and speed parameters in a coordinated loop. Up to 100 process recipes can be stored and recalled for different materials and basis weights, enabling quick changeovers. The system supports remote monitoring and data traceability for EU medical device and automotive interior material production requirements.

Application Scenarios
Medical and hygiene nonwovens (SMS, spunlace, thermal bond cotton for diaper topsheets, medical bed sheets, mask layers, feminine care products) with consistent softness, tensile strength, and skin-contact safety for Southeast Asian and European hygiene product manufacturers. Geotextiles and industrial filtration felts (polyester needle-punched geotextiles, dust filter fabrics for infrastructure and industrial emission control) with enhanced density and tear strength for Middle Eastern and Latin American infrastructure projects. Automotive interior fiber substrates (roof liners, seat backrest materials) meeting European automotive interior standards for Turkish and Polish automotive parts suppliers. Biodegradable plant-fiber nonwovens (PLA, straw fiber eco-friendly materials) with low-temperature thermal bonding and REACH compliance for European markets. Home textile nonwovens and cleaning cloth substrates (wiping cloths, curtain liners) balancing bulk and durability for Japanese and Korean household brands. Nonwoven Calendering Machine Industry knowledge

Thermal bonding systems built around the roller

Changzhou Wujin Guangyu Embossing Roller Machinery Co., Ltd. is a Nonwoven Calendering Machine Supplier that designs and builds complete thermal calendering machines together with the precision rollers inside them. We led and compiled the national industry standard for nonwoven fabric hot-rolling mills, and we manufacture roller blanks, laser-engraved surfaces and hard chrome plating in-house, so the machine package and its bonding rollers are engineered as one system.

Our thermal calendering range is used for adhesive-free consolidation of spunbond, spunlace, ES fiber, geotextile and biodegradable fiber nonwovens. The systems operate through coordinated heat and pressure to deliver controlled bonding strength, softness and surface uniformity across hygiene, medical, geotextile, automotive interior and filtration material production.

Process and application fit

Thermal calendering changes the physical structure of a nonwoven web by melting the low-melt component or softening the fiber surface under controlled heat and pressure. Because no chemical binder is introduced, the process suits skin-contact hygiene materials and environmentally regulated products.

  • Medical and hygiene nonwovens - SMS, spunlace and thermal bond cotton for diaper topsheets, medical bed sheets, mask layers and feminine care products.
  • Geotextiles and industrial filtration felts - polyester needle-punched geotextiles and dust filter fabrics requiring higher density and tear strength.
  • Automotive interior fiber substrates - roof liners, seat backrest materials and acoustic components with controlled thickness and surface quality.
  • Biodegradable plant-fiber nonwovens - PLA, straw fiber and other eco-friendly materials processed with low-temperature thermal bonding.
  • Home textile and cleaning cloth substrates - wiping cloths, curtain liners and wipes that need a balance of bulk, softness and durability.
  • Paper and fiber composite board hot-pressing - thick cardstock, fiberboard and lightweight building material applications.

Engineering value from roller blank to full machine

The main advantage of working with Guangyu is that the calendering machine and its rollers come from the same factory. Our 120,000m² industrial park supports annual production of more than 20,000 precision rollers and 800 embossing or calendering machines, with roll blank finish machining, CNC precision grinding, mirror polishing, laser texturing and hard chrome plating all completed in-house.

Thermal bonding rollers use a patented surrounding deep-hole heat exchange channel structure. Combined with a closed-loop temperature module, this design keeps full-width temperature differential at or below ±0.65°C and fabric basis weight deviation within ±2.5g/m². The stress-relieved heavy-gauge frame and three-stage dynamic balancing to G0.8 grade support continuous 24/7 operation without vibration or frame deformation.

During machining, our in-house deformation analysis system predicts how large structural components will behave, allowing process corrections before parts are finished. This is the manufacturing foundation behind the tight nip, thermal and speed tolerances our machines are specified to hold.

Controls, integration and installation

Every machine is delivered with a PLC closed-loop control system that coordinates temperature, line pressure and speed. The HMI stores up to 100 process recipes for different materials and basis weights, enabling fast changeovers, and supports remote monitoring and data traceability for EU medical device and automotive interior material production.

A servo-hydraulic pressure mechanism provides infinitely adjustable line pressure up to 150 N/mm, with 0-30mm axial cross-axis adjustment that compensates for roller deflection in real time. This eliminates edge tightness, loose edges and wave wrinkles, even at maximum line speeds.

For line integration, we configure the machine around your existing equipment or supply it as part of a complete system. Our Nonwoven Finishing Line and Nonwoven Slitting Machine are designed to match the same web path and control interface. Standard installation parameters include a maximum unwind roll diameter of Φ2500mm, a working temperature range of 120-280°C, closed-loop thermal oil heating and a flow channel pressure of 2.0MPa.

Quality assurance and acceptance

Our manufacturing quality system is ISO 9001 certified, our products carry CE marking and the company is EU RoHS compliant. The national industry standard for Nonwoven Fabric Hot-Rolling Mill was led and compiled by Guangyu, and our equipment is exported to more than 50 countries and regions.

Before shipment, each machine undergoes function testing of the temperature, pressure and speed control loops, roller assembly inspection and dynamic balancing verification. We provide the operating and maintenance documentation needed for your acceptance run, and our standard warranty is 18 months with lifetime technical support.
